European commercial lead developing integration partners, marketplace presence, joint campaigns and recurring-revenue opportunities while coordinating customer and internal technical teams
Start with the operating problem.
Hardware sales created an initial customer relationship but limited the opportunity for ongoing value. The commercial question was where software, integrations and partner workflows could justify repeatable B2B revenue.

What the work created or where it stands now.
Move the opportunity through the handoffs.
Three practical stages kept the commercial requirement connected to delivery.
Build the European partner ecosystem
Work with software businesses across Europe to define relevant use cases, bring integrations into the marketplace and create a stronger joint customer proposition.
Turn listings into commercial activity
Discuss business strategy, partner economics and joint marketing campaigns that could increase adoption, support hardware sales and grow recurring software attachment.
Translate between commercial and technical teams
Coordinate partner requirements with internal product and engineering teams, building practical knowledge of APIs, OAuth, servers and integration workflows without positioning the role as software engineering.
Outcome and current stage.
Integration partnerships and marketplace activity extended the commercial model beyond one-off hardware sales, creating more reasons for customers to adopt the platform and opportunities to grow recurring software revenue alongside hardware deployments.
The integration had to create commercial value
An API or marketplace listing does not create recurring revenue by itself. The integration must remove real operational work, fit naturally into the customer’s existing software and give both partners a reason to keep investing in the relationship.
Rafael worked with partners across Europe to move integrations through the commercial journey: identifying the use case, discussing business strategy, coordinating marketplace presence, planning marketing activity and helping both sides turn technical compatibility into customer adoption.
That required regular mediation between partner teams and igloo’s internal product and engineering functions. Through this work Rafael developed practical knowledge of APIs, OAuth, server requirements and integration delivery—enough to ask better questions, identify dependencies and keep commercial expectations connected to technical reality.
Partnerships make the product more valuable
Rafael is a strong believer that integrations and partnerships are central to connected-product growth. They extend the range of problems the hardware can solve, open partner-led routes to market and create recurring software value after the initial product sale.
This experience allows Frankow to support hardware businesses adding a software layer as well as software companies seeking connected-product, distribution or European commercial partnerships.
Experience another business can use.
- Building and commercialising a European software-integration ecosystem
- Developing marketplace listings, partner strategies and joint demand-generation campaigns
- Mediating effectively between customer teams, commercial stakeholders and internal product engineers
Relationship, role and relevance.
Does Rafael provide software engineering?
Rafael's role is commercial rather than engineering-led. His involvement in integration projects gave him working knowledge of APIs, OAuth, server requirements and technical delivery, allowing him to translate effectively between partners, customers and internal engineering teams.
When can hardware support recurring revenue?
When an integration removes ongoing operational work, connects the product to software customers already use and creates value that remains relevant after the initial hardware purchase.
Why are integration partnerships important for growth?
A strong partner ecosystem expands the use cases a product can serve, gives both companies new routes to market and creates opportunities for joint campaigns, software attachment and longer customer relationships.
